First steps to removing a virus
Lets give the virus/spyware its first attack. Boot in "safe mode" tapping F8 during startup. That should show a menu of options, so select "safe mode". The Windows will look jacked up, but this is only temporary. Next run your anti-virus sytem, and do a full system scan. (If you need a anti-virus program, http://http//tech.yahoo.com/blogs/null/82713 ,is where you'll find them). Fix anything that turns up. Then reboot into safe mode again, then run your anti-spyware program. (If you don't have one, get one. If you don't want to pay to get an anti-spyware that's decent go to http://www.lavasoft.com/support/securitycenter/blog). Then fix anything that turns up. Reboot into normal mode. Then see if your computer still has problems. If it still does, wait for my next post on the more advanced techniques in the war against malware!
